This addon is a plugin. You need to extract it to your
/plugins folder to install it.
Allows the setting of categories as headings, displaying the subcategories. You can lock these category heading, to prevent posting. Comes with view templates, you can move to your theme.

Allows the setting of categories as headings, displaying the subcategories.
You can lock these category heading, to prevent posting.
Comes with view templates, you can move to your theme.
It works differently than "Do not display the categories in the side panel" (recommend you don't use both) and SubCategories plugin.
It does not change /discussions. You may like to set your homepage to /categories/all
You can set any category as a heading regardless of hierarchy tree, it respects existing permissions. Except "lock" which prevents posting.

/theme/YourTheme/views/categoryheadings/ (lowercase) and theme to your heart's content
