Routing
Now i somewhat understand the Routing Configuration but I'm interested in changing the profile url. Someone close to how vanillaforums.org has /profile/username instead of /profile/10/username. The user id in the url just looks ugly and I'm testing vanilla and garden for the backbone of a community network. So i want to make the profile urls easier to remember.

It was done to compensate for duplicate usernames. I'm pretty sure that /profile/username should already work just fine on your site, it simply isn't the default way that names are linked. All you need to change is the view, not how the routing is handled.
