Hmmm... a negative top-margin is fixing my CSS layout

I'm converting a layout at http://www.thirdeyedesign.co.uk/beta/test/developments.html to a flexible height design so that you can crank the text size up a couple of notches and still read everything. However, I've ended up having to put a negative top margin on the grey div with the list of locations in it. Without it, it sits halfway down the page. Any ideas on how to do the layout properly without using a neg. margin?! (I've not had the same problem on the other pages that only have 2 columns, but reckon the homepage is going to have the same problems as well)

Still can't work out fow to fix http://www.thirdeyedesign.co.uk/beta/test/developments.html in IE5 on the Mac... it looks nasty :-(

IE6 in Win it doesn't look right, your picture falls below the bottom div. I can't read any of the links on the bottom except "Room Photo Library" and half of the R is cut off. Put a height on the container that has the map.

that's swearing in css world isn't it? ;-)

try adding float:left; to #devlist rules - you'll need that if you want it to sit level with the map.

Hey guys thanks for the help with this much appreciated, will make some tweaks and see what happens :-) IE5 on the Mac - i've noticed that every old joe in my office who has a mac, and doesn't know better, still runs IE5 as it seems to ship with the older version of OS X. Should I bother even checking that it works in this?

well microsoft officially dont support it anymore, but if your target audience uses it you don't really have much choice.

sigh... i got the browser blues :-( why cant old browser have an embedded self-destruct or something after a couple of years...

Browsers should automatically update, and major updates like version updates should be mandatory.
