What advances can we see in search engines? Surely Google isn't the best way of doing things. What innovations do you think could advance the industry? Anything completely revolutionary. As I stated in another post, I think social bookmarking could be an option.

    Not opening for me either, but i think the one thing that would make for a better search engine is actually finding ALL the words im looking for when I do complex searches, instead of returning for me the complete opposite.

    I hate search engines that take words out of context, if I want to search for a paragraph from a book I damn well should be able to do it. But instead of doing that the stupid search engines try to look for something that has all the matching words which is the worst thing to do when trying to find something specific and long. And top of that, it leaves all the common words out.

    Well it's different in that it only searches on Meta data. Well that's new to me anyway :D

    Kosmo, you know you can use quotes and + - in a search right.. That pretty much solves your problem.

    Krak, even with google, sometimes when you do +the in the search, it complains. it's like, trying to search for "Who", the band, not the word... good luck with that.
