Adding to the Vanilla database

I have Vanilla running, and obviously that means I have a mysql database which contains all the forum information. As I understand it, my ISP requires all mysql to be under one database name. If I want to collect some other data (say feedback) and store it in a database, I have to add another table for that new data - it will not connect to the Vanilla data in any way, just sit as another table alongside the Vanilla tables. If I create a new table with phpMyAdmin is this likely to cause any problems to the Vanilla section of the DB? I can't imagine it will, but I think it's best to check first.

Thanks
