Vanilla1 and WP2.8 Theme Integration

I have searched the web for hours on end trying to find an up to date tutorial/instructions on how to get Vanilla to use WordPress' header/footer files. Does anyone have any links that will work with Vanilla1 and WP2.8?

    Honestly it would be WAY easier to just theme Vanilla to look the same rather than try to call Wordpress to grab those templates. This is like asking how to dam a river so you can wash your clothes :o)

    I don't know how you wash your clothes, but your missing out on the dam thing ;)

    So, Ill assume that this documentation (http://vanillaforums.org/page/ThemeQuickStart) is up to date and go from there. I wanted to make it easier if I changed themes, but guess I'll have to get my hands dirty :)
