Vanilla & Wordpress - User Roles

This discussion is related to the Vanilla Proxyconnect addon.

After a while of testing I still can't figure out how the ProxyConnect plugin handles user roles. From my observation they aren't tied to each other at all - am I right? I'm having difficulties setting the registration process to "Approval" in Vanilla. Even when it's set, every new user gets a "Member" role assigned automatically, skipping the whole approval process. Can someone explain how this should be done using ProxyConnect?

The latest version of Vanilla + ProxyConnect *should* be better at respecting the Approval process. Give it a try?

I am getting the same problem with most recent Vanilla and Wordpress - All incoming WP users get assigned a "member" role in Vanilla. Do I need to setup up the corresponding role names in Vanilla to match my custom roles from WP?

Hey guys, I am wondering about this too. I would really like to use ProxyConnect to manage user roles as well. I tried what @studioleland suggested... no luck.
