ProxyConnect Causing Login/Register Pages and Widgets to be Slow

It seems to me that ProxyConnect is causing my WordPress login and register pages to load really slow. It also seems that it the Vanilla blog widgets are causing the blog's pages to load very slow. Does anyone here know why?

    I haven't had any speed issues with the WP plugin, but I'm not using proxyconnect. Did u try doing the plugin dance yet?
