An ancient topic just got kicked up (bumped) and therefore I decided to start this topic.
The ancient topic is here:

and it refers to another ancient topic:

The topic is about merging discussion threads. In vanilla 1 it seems possible, but in vanilla 2 it isn't possible yet.
Let's figure out if the development team is working on this and if not, what is necessary to accomplish merging and splitting threads.
Copying / pasting the code from Vanilla 1 isn't the way.
