[Solved] Categories on the Front Page

Is there anyway to show categories on the front page as apposed to the "All Discussions" thing I see now.
e.g. http://boards.ign.com/

Can you expand on this? I don't like how the main url title shows All Discussions before the site name in google when you look the site up.. I do have the categories showing front page though
