imported from phpbb3: new user has no role assigned

I've been searching for a solution for a while but can't find anything. I created a new test user on my board and there's no role assigned. I can reset my password but obviously can't log in.

I did delete all imported roles and tried to set up the standard ones but the might've messed up something in the database? My role IDs are very high, too. Does the default role have to be a certain ID?

I am stuck with this problem too. I guess if you can login, your best bet is to manually set the roles and permissions.
