SEO Friendly Urls in Vanilla 2

Somewhere along the way, Vanilla urls began to look like this:

http://surreyrealtor.net/index.php?p=/discussion/7/viceroy-by-bosa-blue-sky-properties

I dunno about you guys, but there seems to be a lot of extra stuff in there doesn't really make sense from an SEO perspective. Wordpress has a very easy to use permalinks system to change this, but with Vanilla it seems a little more involved.

Any ideas or plans to go towards this type of (simple) url structure for Vanilla discussions?

The /index.php?p= can be removed by enabling RewriteUrls.

That fixed the url, but it gives a 404 error if I click on any discussions..

I'm betting your htaccess file isn't uploaded then...

It's there.. I even gave it 777 permissions and did a hard refresh

Do you think it could be due to my routes?

Not sure, but I don't think so. Are you just using the default htaccess?
