Here's a pre section with a > character in it:
However, links are not automatically parsed any more. This should be a hyperlink but it's just plain text: http://vanillaforums.org/discussion/16312/wiki-needs-updated-installation-instructions
Now let's add am HTML link: link to another issue I found.
Notice how the pre section above is correctly highlighted. Everything indicates that the pre has ended right above this paragraph.
