ok so there is badge system in this discussion forums. and these points add up to your badges. and these badges are different for different stuff.

there are badges for

1. Discussions you start or comments you make - which add to your points.

2. If someone accepts your answer - adds to your points

3. if someone likes your comment - adds to your points

4. if you have been member of this community for 1 year = badge, 2 year = another badge, so on.

5. if you change your profile picture = you get badge and points

just brief details to get you started. there are many other badges as well

AfaIk they are just part of the Badges system they are trialling on this forum.

Presumably if it ever goes public, forum admins would decide what (if any) benefits points accrued.

You can trade in points at a rate of 150 to 1 hug from @Tim. Approach slowly and wait for him to signal it's OK to commence the trade.
