Vanillapop mailing list and Vanilla Open Source

I have learned about a feature in Vanilla called Vanillapop. (Vanilla POP)

Advanced and Enterprise plans have a feature called VanillaPop which lets you:

Send an email to create a discussion
Reply to an emailed discussion on the forum or through email.
Have conversations through email, but keep a record on Vanilla.

It's meant to be used with individual email addresses. I'm not sure that it would work properly if using a listserv.

Is it available in Vanilla Open Source?
Has anybody tried it using a listserv?
Were there any problems? Do you have any suggestions/recommendations?

By the way, how do you get a tag to have a space in it, for example:

mailing list

instead of

mailinglist

    1) no

    2) mailing-list

These sort of email system are nice, but there is no point having them if you don't have the infrastructure to support them. You could kill your site if you don't know what you are doing. I think people get over excited over features, rather than managing their server properly, and making good decisions.

It is SaaS, and the hosted version of vanilla ultimately supports the developer who work on the OS version.

    grep is your friend.

I wrote a set of tools for integrating the mailman listserver with vanilla. It's called vanilla-mailman on github.
