How to integrate Vanilla comments in Wordpress?

I am playing with an offline Vanilla installation. I have successfully integrated it in an offline Wordpress installation using the WP plugin and the Vanilla plugin (was only one needed?).
I also wanted to experiment with the comment integration, but it's not working.
I enabled it in the WP plugin and mapped it to a forum category I created on purpose.
Now I simply don't see comments after posts.
What should I do?

Is your category public or private? I had my forum set up so only members could view it, but that was a problem for the Wordpress plugin because it acts as a guest. So whichever category you want to act as comments for your WP posts, you need to make it viewable to guests as well.
