Lussumo Banner (How?)

edited November 2008 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I have been looking around to try to find something equivilant, but I haven't been able to. I would like to add a banner like the one on this site, the banner that has " Swell Blog | Documentation | Community | Vanilla Add-ons." Is this a matter of adding something to the /themes/head.php in Vanillia 1 or should you go about it with an extension like in 0.9.2. Mark, how did you do it? Past basic php, I'm not too knowledgeable.

You can probably acheive this by making a custom theme based on the default vanilla theme.

    Read over here: http://lussumo.com/docs/doku.php?id=vanilla:themes
  • http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/1845/ Search is your friend.
  • Didn't even know you added that! Maybe I should dig through the wiki...
  • I tried adding the LussumoBanner extension and get this error...
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_IF in /home/httpdocs/vanilla/extensions/LussumoBanner/default.php on line 11
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

No idea what the unexpected T_IF is! :(

    Where did you get it?
    Did you implement it correctly?

That error means that there's a missing curly brace somewhere...
  • I found the problem, a stray character crept in when I copied it from the web page!

    I suspected as much :)
  • How come when I try this extension, it results in blank page ? I copied the code enabled the extension then blank page

    check your error.log ;-)
(If you can't find any error message in error.log, you will have change some setting in php.ini or httpd.conf)
  • I got it working, somehow when copying it from the web it was missing something, whatever it was missing was invisible because I compared two different code and it was exact but one worked and the other didn't so go figure

    Hi

I've installed the Lussumo Banner and it works fine. The only problem is that there is a glitch in between my to DIV's that I have in my banner.

The strange thing is that this is working perfectly when I'm on other levels (pages) on the site (http://www.b-gjengen.com). So I suspect this to be related to the vanilla stylesheet. (I'm using the Vanilla Theme)

The forum is only for assinged users, but I have a testenvironment that you can find here - http://salte.nu/forumvanilla/

    Any help is appreciated :)
