Favicon on Default Theme

I'd like to get a favicon on my new forum: http://inspiringwomenmagazine.com/forum/. I tried the favicon plugin and also adding some code to the config.php file, but no go. It's probably a simple fix...but can someone tell me how to do it? I already have a .png created. Thank you!

If I try to open http://inspiringwomenmagazine.com/themes/defaultsmarty/design/favicon.ico (that is the path in the source of your page), I get a 404 error. Check if your favicon is at that place.

Thank you! That helped! The favicon doesn't show up well right now but I'll change the design. Appreciate your help!

you need to add the favicons and apple touch icons images into the design folder. That is the default place where it is call on.

The favicon plugin will add the favicon urls to the head of the document. But you must add the images into the theme design folder.

Also keep in mind that apple does not support ico files as favicon. It is best to use png or even gif to make your favicons. My advise it to add all of the types required by browsers.

Here is a link to a very good favicon generator. You upload your image and select the size . It is free and the best I have used so far.
