I am the owner of our board and all of a sudden I can't post anything. Every comment is marked for moderation and every thread is held for approval. Started yesterday out of nowhere. Forum can be found here: http://www.ps4clan.com/forum/

Any ideas?

see if you have any column in your permissions table called vanilla.approval.require

in 2.1 dashboard with this would result in the problem.

    Vanilla Me Require
    Approval

it looks like this in dashboard.

I don't use 2.0.18.10 because it has been superceded by security fixes in more recent versions.
so you are running an insecure version of vanilla.

but then again I wouldn't use it because I would upgrade to 2.0.18.11 or vanilla 2.1

    what plugins have you installed.

are you by chance using this?

I don't see that anywhere in the permissions table and I am not using that plugin. I'm going to upgrade to 2.1 tonight and will report back. It's weird that I haven't added any plugins or changed anything and this started happening. Others can post without any issues. I am the only one?

  • I would get rid of the minify plugin. it usually just leads to problems, although probably unrelated.

  • also make sure you read thru this. first.

    and this

if it were me I would disable all plugins via the dashboard prior to upgrading.

then upgrade and then re-install and re-enable the plugins appropriate to vanilla 2.1

  • try matching this screen and see if it helps - it is the default permissions for admin and then save it.

Alright, so that issue was solved by disabling the minify plugin. Weird because I've been using it forever and haven't changed anything in a long time. Anyway, this issue is solved, but now I'm having issues upgrading. I will create a separate discussion for that. [Edited] http://vanillaforums.org/discussion/27132/upgrading-issues-2-0-18-10-2-1

  • glad you took my suggestion to disable minify, they should remove the plugin, it just gets people into hot water at one time or another. Or at least put a message in the description of plugin, using this plugin, may cause mysterious problems to occur on your site now or in the future, if so disable it. @PS_DiRtY
