How do I make all categories read only for most users?

    next time you have one more question start a new discussions so the moderator e.g. @hgtonight‌ doesn't have to split the discussion. since your question has nothing to do with the title of your discussion.

    you create a new role e.g. EnhancedMembers that are allowed to Post.

    then you can create custom category permissions via the dashboard edit category option for each category. (or change the default permissions for a role.

    edit a specific role.

    I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.
