Site won't load after enabling plugin

in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8

So I uploaded this plugin: http://vanillaforums.org/addon/preventweblinks-plugin and clicked Enable and the site stalled and would not load.

Ever since, I can see that the server load just keeps increasing (beyond 200). Even if I restart the server, the server load just keeps going up again.
When I check the process list, the index.php of my site is what's taking up the CPU. Something in the vanilla code is causing it to eat up my cpu and take forever to load it seems.

Any way I can trace the issue and fix it?

    I see nothing in the plugin code that you mentioned to cause the load to increase upon enabling this plugin.

    I'd also recommend upgrading your version of vanilla.

    I think it was more of a Vanilla issue. I tried a bunch of random stuff and it eventually started behaving. Thank you for that link though, it could save me some time if I have problems in future.
