I'm wondering the best way to send a newsletter to my forum community?

Is there a Vanilla Plugin or System for community email messaging or do you need to integrate it with mail chimp?

    there is a mail chimp plugin

    Since mail chimp is the better tool for the job, no need to reinvent the wheel. Only concern with signing up to the list.

    grep is your friend.

    I second using MailChimp. I used it for my business to send out emails to my clients and prospects and it's an excellent tool.
