Newbie question about Wordpress and Vanilla Forum

Hello,

I have a WordPress blog installed/hosted at Bluehost.com.
It is a standard install that I have not released yet.

Today I also tried to install Vanilla Forum at the same site.

  1. I created a Vanilla Forum database and database user
  2. I created a folder called forum under public_html hosting my Wordpress site.
  3. I copying the Vanilla Forum contents to the folder called forum
  4. Next I executed the install by http://mysite/forum
  5. I entered the database information
  6. After that I had Vanilla Forum working…

The problem was it appeared to overwrite my Wordpress install….
If I went to http://www.computeraudiobasics/forum the vanilla forum site displayed
If I went to http://www.computeraudiobasics it would just go to the Bluehost under construction default and act like Word Press was a new install.

I was able to fix by delete the Vanilla Forum folder and database.

Is there a way for me to install Vanilla Forum in the forum folder so that it does not interfere with my Workpress Install?

  1. If I go to http://www.computeraudiobasics.com then I can see my workpress site
  2. If I go to http://www.computeraudiobasics.com/forum then I can see my forum.
