Addressbook/Buddylist

edited March 2008 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I would like to see an add-on (or better in the default Vanilla release) which added an adressbook/buddylist. So I can add members on my forum to my buddylist, see if they are online (maybe on chatservices too), see their email (and add more emails if they have, but it would add the email that the members uses on the forum if the member allowed it, which can be set in the account area), telephone numbers, cellphone, location, description, and so forth. The addressbook would be in a new "tab", as the Todo add-on. My PHP, MYSQL skills aren't that good yet, but I guess I could try (but that would take kinda long), so until then, it would better if someone else made the add-on. What do you think of the idea?

I think there's a thread or two already already about a MySpace-style friends add-on.... http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/3694/comment-on-user-myspacelike/ and also http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/2918/ If something like this did happen you would probably be extending the Account anyhow to accomadate some extra fields. The Predefined Attributes plugin can help with this - http://lussumo.com/addons/?PostBackAction=AddOn&AddOnID=20 Also see http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/4371/i-made-another-extension-chat-status-formerly-aim-status/#Item_0 for an AIM/sykpe/ICQ status plugin... (Not sure about the address book though!)

something like this would be nice. even better would be a clone of yayhooray's buddy/enemy system that let you automatically hide posts from people you dont like. its makes a huge difference with forum trolls.

yes this would be very cool to have, even though we have the friends list... which is not working completely
but buddy lists sounds cooler... i think
