i want to be set "off" the limit number of caracter in my discussions... but i don't see this option in admin.... thanks

    I've never experimented with this option, but I do have a question about its use: Will the user be notified when he/she has reached the maximum number of characters in their message?

    Nope. Only after they post.

    well, as far as I know, when the user outnumbers the maximum number of characters in the comment it can't be posted, and the user gets a warning message

    it shows the warning message which tells how many characters off-limit does the comment contains and shows the comment ready to be edited so no, they don't lose the post ;)
