Deleting comments for real

I'd like to know if there's a way to legitimately remove comments and discussions from my database, completely taking them out of existence instead of simply making them invisible to users. Is there an extension that can accomplish this, or is it a potentially risky phpMyAdmin kind of deal?

    Do a search in the add-ons section.

    I use it and it works as advertised.
