Hello Lussomo- Recently, I finished initial stages of developing a wiki integrated with Vanilla. The company that did the setup and installation has signed off the project after losing several staff who knew the software well. While I had wanted to learn all the needed details for maintaining components of the site, it appears I will need to learn more quickly and extensively. Can you advise either books or online manuals that would be most useful for this purpose? It goes without saying of course, that I will be monitoring the dialogues here to benefit from the experience users so freely share on this forum. Gratefully, Rob Davis

    I gather from the lack of response that there are no such materials available other than standard PHP manuals which I am examining now. However, if anyone knows a person familiar with Vanilla and/or PHP in the Asheville, NC area, would you refer them to me as I will be interested in retaining someone experienced in this area as development proceeds.     Yeah, PHP manuals, MediaWiki documentation and the Vanilla documentation are all that's available. I can't really see O'Reilly releasing a book on integrating Vanilla with a Wiki.

    Hello Again- Further along the curves of learning Vanilla, I have encountered the following message when in my member profile on the forum I recently built. It is worth mentioning that it appears after activating the extension "LatestBlogged 0.1.0". While the latest blog posts are displayed corrrectly on the member page, the following message appears just above the member page. Notice: Undefined index: version in /home/daynalo/public_html/nordan/forum/extensions/LatestBlog/magpierss-0.72/rss_parse.inc on line 173 Any thoughts? Gratefully, Rob Davis

    It's nothing major, looks like the extension's author forgot to do a bit of error-checking. It's probably solvable with a quick if(isset()) statement.

    Hello Vanilla Users! We have encountered a NOT FOUND (see below) error code when opening the forum. Yesterday, someone posted a comment that generated a notification email to me. I discovered the error code when following the link in the email directing me to the discussion where the comment was made. If it will help, I have enclosed here two messages from the hosting company as they have attempted to resolve the issue. Prior to this, the forum software was running like a dream. 1. I tried restoring the site from the available backups and it didn't help us to fix the issue. Can I try reinstalling the forum(vanilla 1.1.2) at http://nordan.daynal.org/forum? If yes, please let me know the database details associated with this forum. Hope this is fine for you. 2. I checked this issue in detail and found that file /home/daynalo/public_html/press/scriptorium.html includes two frames /home/daynalo/public_html/press/scriptorium_menu.html and http://www.nordan.daynal.org/forum/people.php. In which the first one is available and it loads fine at the top of page http://www.press.daynal.org/scriptorium.html. Second frame http://www.nordan.daynal.org/forum/people.php is included with a file named /home/daynalo/public_html/nordan/forum/appg/settings.php which seems to be the database configuration file for that forum. This db settings file seems to be not configured properly and so when any one try to access the url http://www.nordan.daynal.org/forum/people.php it will automatically redirect to the installation url, http://www.nordan.daynal.org/forum/setup/index.html. This file is not available and so you are seeing a "404 Not Found" message at the bottom of http://www.press.daynal.org/scriptorium.html. Hope this is clear for you.
