question on upgrading

Hi I'm currently running Vanilla discussion board on one of my sites, there's a problem I had when dates and last active seemed to remain on a date dec 31st, 1969. I started an upgrade recently to version 1.1.4 (current version is 1.0), I still doesn't solve the issue and my members started complaining bout having trouble logging in.. so I had no choice but to restore it back to version 1.0. What seems to be the problem, I'm left clueless. Do I need to upgrade it gradually (i mean from v1.0 to v1.1, v1.1.2, v1.1.3..) and does anybody have an idea what might be causing the date to remain the same on all posts? Please help.. Thanks

    You should be able to just upgrade straight like you did. The date issue is completely unrelated, but may be causing the login isssues.

    What do you see when you look in the database for the dates?
