would like to see a job board theme etc..

you can pretty much turn the forum into one now by just having the right categories, but a custom theme tailored to this would be better.

    Rather than doing a theme, you could just edit the definitions to change discussions to jobs, etc.

    (edit them in /path/to/vanilla/languages/english/language.php [or something like that])

    good suggestion but how would i handle the two different types of users employee's & employers i would like to have different profile fields for each one

    Profile Fields are not part of a Vanilla theme, you need an extension like Predefined Attributes. Then just use Roles to allow only Employers to start new "Jobs".
