    This site gets the occasional spammer. If it's truly spam, it is promptly deleted usually within the hour. Within the day at the latest.

    Manually. But since no major spambots directly target Vanilla, its not a big deal. I've heard using extensions such as guest post without captcha can attract bots though. I've seen maybe half a dozen spams in the past year. Would wager most of them were people manually entering the message instead of a computer doing it.
