Embed theme causing strange profile display

edited February 2011 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8
Hello. I LOVE this app! I've customized it with plug-ins and even altered the display theme a little bit. Try as I may, I cannot seem to fix one major problem: the page that displays a user's profile is showing a big gaping hole between the update activity box and the list of activities. Auto-activities like "such and such sent a message" or "such and such commented on this discussion" are showing up fine, but status updates like "I am working hard to my programming today" end up at the bottom of the gap (they also push all of the other auto updates beneath it).

What should I do? Help me, Vanilla.

  • Did you download this theme and have you tried using another theme?

  • The theme was included with the vanilla2 package. This issue doesn't occur with other themes, but other themes don't work in an embed (they get cut off at the edges)
  • I have this issue also. I have just made lots of changes to my theme to embed it into my wordpress blog so changing and using another theme inst an option. Did you managed to resolve this as I clicked on the link to your profile

    buy couldn't see the problem?
  • Another question. I noticed on your profile you have the facebook sign on plugin and twitter. I have searched the Vanilla forums dir searching for twitter but There are only 3 results returned: Twitter, Vanilla Jixbar and Twitter Feeds but none of these mention the logon feature. where did you get the plugin from? thanks in advance.
  • I think i have worked it out. its the twitter plugin.
  • @ashleybacon did you get this figured out? The twitter plugin doesn't seem to be the culprit to me but I am getting the same odd space on profile pages.

  • Scoobeee. To clarify when I said 'I think i have worked it out. its the twitter plug-in.' I was referring to working out how to install the twitter sign in plug-in. I haven't worked out how to resolve the profile gap issue. My fault for confusing this topic by adding other questions. So I take it from you last post a resolution can be found

Decided to give it a go now rather than wait and it worked. I love the Vanilla community, so helpful. This was a very simple and quick change.
