I upgraded and the comment box disappeared
I upgraded to the latest version of Anonymouse and the comment box disappeared from all pages. I tried redoing the settings and enabling all categories but that did not work.
Clicking on start discussion works though.
I rolled back to 2.4.15.

How did you do that? Just uploaded new files to the server? It is wrong way.
You need disable, and then enable plugin again.
New version need call Plugin::Setup() first to work properly.
Update: It didn't work.
I've rolled back to my old version.
