While upgrading I am consistently redirected from utility/update to dashboard/setup.

I am upgrading 2.0.16 to 2.0.18.2 on a server that uses LiteSpeed V5.5 instead of Apache2. The forum works fine, so I assume that the issue is not the webserver.

All Themes, Plugins, Uploads moved carefully to 2.0.18.2 folder, config.php edited... then all web files deleted and edited 2.0.18.2 files put in place.

Whenever I go to utility/update, I get dashboard/setup instead.

Anyone have this before?

How can I code af custom HTML form for login to Vanilla from another page on same domain?

I can see that Vanilla's own form make some kind of hash, so I guess I need to generate and include this hash also on my own form.

Anybody have any idea how I should do this?

How to add or remove buttons, replace p with br, how to change default text area size? Can't do this like with regular TinyMCE because I can't find any tinyMCE.init({ code anywhere according to official manual.

Is there any way for integrating Vanilla with other CMS as in Joomla? (Note: there is a plugin for Joomla called Jfusion.org which allows you to bridge Joomla with some scripts as in phpBB!)

Hi vanilla! Fabulous! I've discover this "forum creator" this weak and find it wonderful. It's different to all my last experience, as in phpBB, MyBB, VB, etc. thanks to developers.

My Question: I'd like to use Joomla as index of my forum. It means I'll port the main link of Vanilla to Joomla index. So, I should merge Joomla & Vanilla because of one domain. It needs to replace index.php of Joomla instead of index.php of Vanilla! I've tested this style before, using Joomla+phpBB; Wordpress+MyBB too. that's ok!

But here, the problem is role of index.php into Vanilla! renaming/removing index.php of vanilla will kill the forum! the action of index.php of Vanilla is the same as SMF's index.php action!

in contrary, phpBB's index.php is just a presentation file. Removing index.php on phpBB/MyBB won't turn off forum, you can still access to subforums by the direct link of each forum, jus, index of forum will be out of hand. How can I rename (and at last remove) index.php of Vanilla?

Hey!
I've been building a site on vanilla now for a couple of months (Yep, v2, I know I'm stupid)
I have been developing on a local machine but now as I push up to server I get:

SQLSTATE[42000] [1203] User [MYUSERNAME] already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections

I know this might be limited by the host but is there any chance that vanilla2 is not closing connections or something like that? Something that vanilla does that contributes to the connections?

I was wondering how to enable the Statistics. On Dashboard > Settings > Statistics, it's giving me the error "Problem with credentials." with a button to Re-Register API Key.

Am I supposed to put something into the Application ID and Application Secret fields? If so, where do I get this information?

On the Dashboard home, I get "Permission denied - Token Verification is required, but failed."

My forum is publicly accessible and I'm not aware of anything that would be blocking a connection. Or perhaps there's a server requirement that I don't meet?

Hi there. On some pages I'm getting a strange error: if a person clicks on "Write a Reply" or the "Show Source" button on CLEditor, the textarea expands infinitely, only stopping when the person clicks the "Show Source" button again. This does not happens on all topics and only when it is embedded.

If it is not embedded, there is also an error, it will have a duplicate textarea - one for source and one for wysiwyg.

I'm trying to install Vanilla 2 on Nginx but am facing 404 Page not found error. After some searching I figured it is url rewrite error. So, tried to translate Apache's rewrite rule:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [QSA,L]

as:
if (!-e $request_filename

I am in the process of testing V2 and in my test environment, when I enable Cleditor I get the following behavior.

After a post is submitted and the next input window appears, the new input window grows down the page…. for what looks like and endless loop.

Is this the plugin or Error between Chair and Keyboard?

If you guys need to see it I can turn it on and give the URL. Is off for now.

Is there a way to format code with CLEditor?

The forum we are building is a developer / coding forum, so the ability to add / display code is very important. Is there anyway to get CLEditor to work with one of the code / syntax plugins (like Syntaxizer, GoogleCodePrettify, Markdown, GeSHi, etc.)? Perhaps add a code button or something? Or at least don't strip markup? Any ideas? Thanks!

I haven't yet been able to track down the when of this bug, let alone the why. Occasionally, when opening a discussion on a mobile device, the user will be unable to scroll up or down. As soon as you release your thumb, the forum jumps back to the post it directed you to when you open the discussion. Has this happened to anyone else?

I should add that it's not permanent. Sometimes after moving on to another thread and then coming back, the but no longer presents.

I have followed the instructions here: http://vanillaforums.org/docs/advancedconfig to change the default email notification preferences in the /conf/config.php file.

I have added:

    $Configuration['Garden']['Email']['BookmarkComment'] = TRUE;
    $Configuration['Garden']['Email']['CommentMention'] = TRUE;
    $Configuration['Garden']['Email']['ConversationMessage'] = TRUE;
    $Configuration['Garden']['Email']['DiscussionComment'] = TRUE;
    $Configuration['Garden']['Email']['DiscussionMention'] = TRUE;
    $Configuration['Garden']['Email']['WallComment'] = TRUE;

To the end of my config.php file but new users seem unnaffected by this change. The email preferences remain the same and are unchanged from the default install.

Since i cant make proxyconnect work , (noone is replying to my thread) i decided to give jsconnect a try. But prob is that i am using Codeigniter. So my function.jsconnect.php is in views folder. How to access it in require_once path?

I have successfully configured proxyconnect for vanilla. But after i login, i get redirected to home page of my cms and not forum.

EG : My login : http://localhost/index1.php/login Home : http://localhost/index1.php/members Vanilla http://localhost/index.php

After i click login from vanilla, i get redirected to my login page and after logging in, i get redirected to home and not vanilla. I don't know where my code going whong.

Help me please..

Can't Drag & Drop Categories

I just installed Vanilla using the softaculous software, and immediately noticed that I can't drag and drop my categories. It seems to work in the administration area, but when I view the forum on the frontend, nothing has changed. This is quite frustrating since I need to have my categories arranged alphabetically.

Any solutions?

The database seems to have been built. I have accessed it with various urls (embedded and not) as well as messed with the urls setup in the control panel.

Any ideas?
