I also updated to Attachments 2.1 at the same time, but this appears to be working correctly, as when I disable II1.2 the pictures show up as a list at the bottom as expected.

Any ideas as to what I've got wrong on the upgrade? I just deactivated the extension, deleted the directory via FTP, uploaded the new one and then reactivated it.

It would be very helpful if someone could write an add-on that adds a checkbox for saving a Yes/No (or 0,1) boolean preference (such as a newsletter subscription, or a "do not send me offers via email" preference) into the application form. The user would also be able to update that preference from their account page.

The add-on wouldn't need to do anything more than that since anyone with admin access to the database can easily export the recorded data in nearly any format directly from their database manager (phpMyAdmin, etc.).

A more advanced version of this proposed add-on would let admins define multiple boolean preferences that can be placed in the database from the admin form (for example "please enter me in this month's sweepstakes")

I know that the "Predefined Attributes" can do this, but it's code is very outdated (it was written for Vanilla 0.9.2) and isn't being maintained anymore. Plus, it crams all of the labels and values into an array in the database, which is really not useful for simple boolean preferences that often need to be extracted and referenced easily. Additionally, it's companion add-on (User Export) to access that data no longer works in the latest release of Vanilla.

Is anyone aware of a more recent add-on that does something similar to this that can achieve this with some modifications?

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. I would think that many people could find an add-on like this useful.

I ran into a weird problem (both sites were/are hosted) where the transplanted site wouldn't run. Nothing. Nada. Nothing in logs just sat there.

So I did a fresh install and made sure Vanilla was happy with the new ISP and it was. Then I loaded in the DB and copied over the extensions/themes and besides a bit of DNS misery and some extension hackery (turning them off in extensions.php then back on)everything was ok.

During testing I have now discovered the Discussion Prefs for Sticky/Unsticky and so on do not work. Trying to make a discussion unsticky (as a user with confirmed ability to do so) resulted in being logged out. I then used the 'remember me' function but I can't seem to get any of those bits to work.

It was logging to the error file originally but I echoed a newline in for the sake of debug and now it isn't writing to the file anymore.

Vanilla-1.1.4

Helps?

I'm looking to take an RSS feed and create/start threads based on entries of that feed. Basically, I want to create discussions for local news based on the local news site's RSS feed. Ideally, the article's headline would be the title/subject of the thread, the excerpt listed in the RSS feed would be quoted in a blockquote in the entry, with a link to the full story below the blockquote. I could setup a cron job that would pull the RSS feed entries every xx minutes.

I'm already pulling RSS data from another site (on the same server) using the FeedManager plugin, so possibly that could be expanded upon to include these features?
Hi,

I'd like to include the Account Icon field on the sign-up page. Does anyone know how I can do this?
If I simply include the form input field (as copied from the Account Identity Form) it doesn't work - the icon value isn't saved.

Any ideas?
