Google Connect & OpenID

The Google Connect & OpenID plugins allow your users to sign into the forum using their Google or OpenID credentials.

How to set up OpenID in Vanilla

Download and install the OpenID plugin from the Addon repository if you are a self-hosted customer (The OpenID plugin should already be installed if you are hosting your forum at http://vanillaforums.com).

There are no configuration options for OpenID. Just enable it, and your users will see the OpenID option when signing in.

How to set up Google Connect in Vanilla

Google Connect follows the OpenID standard. As such, you must have the OpenID plugin enabled in order to also enable Google Connect. Once OpenID is installed and enabled, download and install the Google Connect plugin from the Addon repository if you are a self-hosted customer (The Google Connect plugin should already be installed if you are hosting your forum at http://vanillaforums.com).

There are no configuration options for Google Connect. Just enable it, and your users will see the Google Connect option when signing in.
