Nice theme :) The sign in page is still blue though, I don't know if that was intentional.... I think it would look more complete if the sign in blue was changed into the sidebar pale grey.

You would need to write a plugin to do this I believe. I would consider looking at the "In this discussion" plugin as an example to figure it out.

Overwrite your forum directory on the server with a fresh copy of Vanilla. Be sure NOT to overwrite your config folder (MAKE a backup too). I think this should fix any PHP edits you may have made by accident that is messing your forum display up.

K i've set it to 120 and 2 minutes seems high enough that no one will notice it hopefully. I wonder what function accesses it, so I can look and see what my host is missing to fix it.

Try changing your theme back to the default vanilla theme. Do the categories reappear? If so it's an error/feature in the theme.
