It is not up to me. This is somewhat of myth, or not entirely correct. The restriction in GPL is in it limits the choices you can make in development. It limits the choices you can make in the future. AGPL is a good example of further limitation. Imagine if this vanilla forums was AGPL, then they wouldn't make any money… -

wrong, you are talking about software that is using Apache licensing code in the product, it is not illegal to run vanilla on Apache server. * you are not mixing the code bases, they are entirely separate concerns * they are not distributed together.
