Customizing Vanilla2

edited August 2010 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8
Thanks for a great forum software. I've setup Vanilla2 but there's a few things that I'd like to change:

1. How can I change the URL path from: http://www.example.com/vanilla/ to: http://www.example.com/forums/ without changing the directory that it is currently installed to (/vanilla)?

2. The link to a forum category is (categories): http://www.example.com/forums/categories/name How can I change this to (category):http://www.example.com/forums/category/name

3. I've entered category descriptions but these are never displayed anywhere - how can I display these?

4. How can I disable the "Activity" feature?

    for 2. I would try to change
    root/conf/config.php -> settings on "routes"

    read the documentation - may you can also solve 1. with that thing.
    May also have to change the htaccess-file

    3. is maybe a job for our template

    Yes 3 is a job for the template/theme. Thanks.

    I've already searched the forums but can't find anything to solve these questions. The documentation is lacking/unfinished so couldn't find the solution there either. For example I looked at routes which is probably where the answer lies but I get
    "The page you're looking for doesn't exist (yet)" when looking at http://vanillaforums.org/page/routes

    Anyone?

    We're both in a boat of "What the heck why isn't there any documentation we need it soo badly omg!"

    Example, I simply want to move the "Start a New Discussion" button somewhere (outside the panel div) less conspicuous. It looks kinda like a Stackoverflow esque "we only answer questions, not foster discussion threads" the way it is, so prominent.

    Haha same boat indeed. I agree there does seem to be an aura of stackoverflow in the design.
    In regards to moving the button try having a look at the views.
