Friendly URLs even when off

So my friendly URLs are off, and it generally uses the expected syntax of /index.php?p=XXX.

But if I go to a category and delete something, the redirect takes me to a friendly URL...

http://host/index.php?p=/categories/my-category

And then I delete something and it redirects to:

http://host/categories/my-category

Anyone else noticed this problem?
