Issue with embed code with Wordpress, multiple slashes and remote.js leading to "Page Not Found"

edited October 2010 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8
Hi, I hope you can help with this.

I've decided that it's time to give Vanilla a try on my website www.myvenusflytrap.com

I have installed vanilla to www.myvenusflytrap.com/forum/ and have created a page on the site with the embed plugin at http://www.myvenusflytrap.com/flytrap-forum/

Unfortunately Vanilla doesn't show up.

Taking a look at the code it's including

<script type=\\\"text/javascript\\\" src=\\\"http://www.myvenusflytrap.com/forum/index.php?p=/plugins/embedvanilla/remote.js\\\"></script>

Is this correct? There are a lot of slashes there and when I try to remove them in WordPress they just get added again.

Also if I follow http://www.myvenusflytrap.com/forum/index.php?p=/plugins/embedvanilla/remote.js I just get a "page not found" message.

When I follow this link I'm taken through to a Wordpress "cannot find" page and so can only assume that is what's causing the issue.

Any help on this WordPress issue would be gratefully received.

@Dazkeirle - We fixed a slashes problem in our most recent release of this plugin. If you download the latest version of Embed Vanilla (included with the core Vanilla download), and get the latest version of the WordPress plugin from within, it should fix the problem.

When you look at the Embed Vanilla page in WordPress, make sure that your script tag appears as:

  • ok, but even without the slashes the link takes you to a "page not found".

Sorry, I think you definitely have an older version of the plugin(s). I took a closer look at your embed script, and it should actually be:
