Need to adjust config.php after copying old config.php when upgrading?

Do you need to alter your config.php after you've upgraded (or is it recommended)? In my case I just upgraded from 2.0.14 to 2.0.17.8 and copied the old config.php. The manual does not mention anything, but I just wondered what is the best practice here.
