Which forum approach do you prefer?

I was wondering which forum approach do you prefer? Social (aka "Vanilla" approach) or traditional (aka "vBulletin/IP.Board" approach). I prefer the social approach since it lets you build bigger communities more easily and makes it easier to maintain.

As a former vb dev, i can tell you. I prefer vanilla, from front end pov.
Theming is easier, i would like to see this area be more like vb.org tho.
As for the framework, the jury is still out on that one. At times i feel vanilla was designed to be embedded, and thats cool. But the mechanics of it can be confusin.
