[Solved] Bonk only for more recent profiles

edited August 2013 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8

Hi:

Strange Bonk behavior: I'm getting bonk only when trying to view more recent profiles.

For example, the following profiles load properly:
http://www.obamacareforums.com/profile/1/Bob_Moderator
http://www.obamacareforums.com/profile/349/MNMom07

However, the following profiles and all since (after no. 350) return Bonk:
http://www.obamacareforums.com/profile/350/sierr47e
http://www.obamacareforums.com/profile/351/HealthCareSuperhero

Has anyone else seen this behavior before?

Thanks so much!

Try to add the information to your conf/config.php that you should add when you get a Bonk error. Then visit those profiles again and take a look at the error details. Post those details here and restore the old conf/config.php

    Hi @UnderDog:

I edited config.php and saw the error was associated with a plug-in. After re-installing the plug-in (including version upgrade), bonk error is gone.

    Thanks much!

Thanks for posting back! Mind sharing what plugin it was?

It was Peregrine Badges, but not at fault of the plug-in. As I now recall, I had tried to modify the plug-in approx. a month back, which coincides with when this profile bonk issue started. So, I'm sure I was the cause ...

I have also been affected by this issue. Certain profiles could not be viewed. Attempts to do so resulted in the Bonk message. After reading this, I simply disabled the plug-ins one at a time until I found the culprit. In my case, it was one called Gravatar.
    Thanks for the advice. :D

It's great you solved your issue, by disabling a plugin but ....
perhaps a follow through of the bonk error that you received would be appropriate and the version of vanilla and the plugin version, posted under the plugin that gave you the problem. Because it scares people off from using certain plugins that actually really do work, but may not be setup correctly or the wrong version is used, or the user actually caused the error and not the plugin.

I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.

My apologies, I did not intend to discredit the plug-in in any way. The issue was more likely caused by something that I either did or didn't do correctly. This is my first attempt at installing a forum and it has only been active for a few weeks.
