    http://vanillaforums.org/addon/fileupload-plugin

and do yourself a favor and search on uploading attachments in the forum

there are lots of plugins (add-ons).

or search the add-ons for upload

but there is nothing on site that allows charging for add-ons. - you would have to do that yourself on your site, but vanilla forums add-ons section does not have a charge feature.

and no need to duplicate your questions!

I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.

No, that's not what I asked for. I want something like this:
    http://xenforo.com/community/resources/
So its a library of uploads, that people can comment on and it makes a note of any updates etc.
This is just an upload feature when posting....
    http://vanillaforums.org/addon/fileupload-plugin

I duplicated my question because the forum didn't confirm it had been posted.

I did search the addons before posting thanks.

Also why don't I get an email to say someone has replied to this post please?

Ah sorry ignore that last message. Found it in settings. But its not on as default. Can that be changed then? As I would like it on by default. Otherwise, like me, you post for the first time, and think no one has replied and it makes you sad :-(

could be you haven't changed your notification settings in profile.

Thanks. So there isn't anything like the resources feature Xenforo offer on Vanilla?

I have a forum that uses vanilla and I am looking to add a feature to it that works like Xenforo "Resource Manager" add on.
    https://xenforo.com/purchase/

ah, your question becomes clear now...:)

then, you will have to code that yourself or hire someone probably.

there used to be an add-on manger on vanilla gihub not sure if it was proprietary or not.

I can't code! Where would you look to hire someone?

for the vanilla folks who read this forum. you could post your budget here and write your specs up. and someone could respond.

or you could try other web sites that offer free-lance work.

Ok thanks.Thinking about it. I guess I could just use the file upload add on your linked to originally and then people can just post with a file attachment into different categories. Eg USEFUL DOCS.

You could look into modifying the AddonsApp which is a Garden application that powers the addon repository here on vanillaforums.org.

You can find the source here: https://github.com/vanillaforums/VanillaAddonsApp

@peregrine if a plugin you saw before is missing it's probably just moved to the archive folder because we're no longer developing it. I shied away from deleting things outright in case someone wanted to look at them.

@hgtonight fyi: we forked that addonsapp into a private .org repo because it was easier to manage and I think we got 1 pull request in 5 years. :/ Gave up on that bit as an open source project for now - plenty to do on vanilla & addons.

So... There's no any alternative for xenforo's resources?

This link (VanillaAddonsApp at github) not working now.
