Problem authenticating your post Information - only in Internet Explorer

edited January 2008 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hi,

I know the cookies thing is a common problem, and here's mine! Here's the scenario:

Firefox, with and without Remember Me: Logging in and can post
IE7, with and without Remember Me: Logging in, but cannot post (error: "There was a problem authenticating your post information.")

Vanilla version: 1.1.4
Contents of settings.php cookie section:
$Configuration['BASE_URL'] = 'http://www.boris-johnson.com/forum/';
$Configuration['FORWARD_VALIDATED_USER_URL'] = 'http://www.boris-johnson.com/forum/';
$Configuration['COOKIE_DOMAIN'] = '.boris-johnson.com';
$Configuration['COOKIE_PATH'] = '/forum/';

It is integrated with Wordpress for themes, but not for logins. Using the plain Vanilla theme has the same issue.

Here is the forum: http://www.boris-johnson.com/forum/

Remedies tried so far:
- Cleared cookies

Please help!

  • Try reuploading the js folder.
  • Hi - thanks for the info. Have reuploaded the JS file, but no change APART FROM THE FOLLOWING:

    IE now only works with Remember Me ticked. It's possible I was mistaken about it working before...

    So the situation now is:

    Firefox, with and without Remember Me: Logging in and can post
    IE7, without Remember Me: Can't log in.
    IE7, with Remember Me: Logging in, but cannot post (error: "There was a problem authenticating your post information.")

    Any further help would be appreciated - this is a high volume site!

    Simon
  • Encourage your users to use anything but Exploder. It worked for me, support issues are almost zero!
  • Any other suggestions?!
