URL - is it good?

I don't know much seo. Right now the url is

discussions/number/sentence
ex : discussions/34/text
If i change it to discussions/34/tes

It is still loading the same page! Will it not create duplicate pages?

    No that won't cause any problems. That feature is to prevent 404s from happening.
