Vanilla 2.0.18 (beta 4) released
We got a little sidetracked during our beta release process for 2.0.18. No worries! We're back on track for release now. Ignore that this is beta 4 - treat this as a first beta. Lots of features got added, and lots of stuff got changed. I can't provide a responsible changelog. You'll need to check the GitHub commit log for… -
Interview with Hgtonight
We had a chance to chat with hgtonight, moderator of Vanilla Forums Community Forum **Tell us about yourself. ** I am a 26 year old North Dakota native. That is in the midwest of the United States for the folks that are no good at geography like me :D . I develop embedded software for a living. This means I am used to bare… -
Re: Event Calendar Utopia
Finally started and it's already on github! And starting showed me where I will have to cope with serious shortcommings. I can hook after SafeDiscussion but not before. So when the user creates an event, all error checkings have to be done on the clientside. But if data storage fails, I will not be able to give the user… -
Re: Can You Make reactions here Visible all the time here?
After changing that, it would be cool if you got rid of the who "question answered y/n" that appears , it seems to be more of an impediment than something helpful. It also throw off the whole chronology of the message, in that the question answered yes rises to the top (with out later users seeing the sequence), and the… -

Re: Anyone want to help make the Addon application into a user Showcase application?
Your comment, I think, is specific to the needs of code contributors to the site, but not consumers of the site's code (in the form of pluggins, themes, etc.)? Your suggestion seems focused mainly on a code only type of showcase, which is GitHub, of course. But what about non-coders who visit the site not really interested… -
Re: Ideas of the community to change plugin system to enable plugin fixes
Few initial thoughts: 1. I couldn't handle others playing with my code. All too often I have moved forward with plugin code (WIP for the next version) and I'd hate to have to merge versions. 2. Backward compatibility is ideal but we've all seen how Vanilla versions have deviated from that principle and if you add to that… -
Vanilla 2.0.18 (beta 2) is now available
Vanilla 2.0.18b2 is now available!Beta Version? We've been working hard on the latest point release of Vanilla and the new version is right around the corner. In the past we've always just released versions and fixed late-breaking bugs with quick patches. This time we've decided to do a beta release to help get the bugs… -
Re: Adjusting the line-height of text in the advanced editor
I have added that now. Not sure if it's doing what it's meant to, but it didn't break anything and the site works as expected. Here's the final code. Also, I can't change the thread name, but feel free to change it to something related to the rich editor issue which might make it easier to find if people are searching for…
