Mine is testing here REMOVED LINK

    I have problems though,

When I use the "Quote" plugin It reverts to the homepage with a new URL

    REMOVED LINK

Can someone please tell me when this will work with the "Quotes" plugin?
  • Hey Kyle,

Your embedded forum looks great! You might try upgrading to the latest version of Vanilla. I was having the same #ript redirect issue with the recaptcha refresh buttons, after upgrading the refresh buttons work. Now, I realize the recaptcha is different from the Quotes plugin, but who knows, the new version just might do the trick.

Also, this discussion is for showing our embedded sites and not for discussing bugs. If upgrading to the latest version doesn't fix it you might try posting your question on the Quotes plugin page: http://vanillaforums.org/post/discussion?AddonID=571
  • I'm pretty happy with my embedded Vanilla 2 forum, you can see it here in my brand new site in Italian.

there are some bugs and quirks, but its 95% good to go and I think folks are going to find it functional and good looking as soon as I launch thru my newsletter.

@candyman Hi, its hard to tell if you were answering my comment, but it appears so. Thanks for the compliments, and you may absolutely contact me for anything you wish, I'd be glad to help.
  • Just added the amazing Vanilla forums software to my site. Currently it is used as support forum but I'd like to add a category for feature requests as well (when the voting plugin can be set to only one category).

The forum is embedded in my Wordpress blog and uses a custom version of the EmbedFriendly theme. Especially, I've changed the colour scheme and am tweaking the 'side bar' to match better. Work in progress...

  • Here's ours. We are using it for Q&A about our issue tracking software.

The embedded stuff was very easy to setup. We are going to be looking into the FB connect stuff next.

    here is mine

    original forum: http://www.delayofgame.ca
    embedded version: http://www.ohmpage.ca/community/

i made a new theme based on the embed-friendly theme. i'd upload a version of it to the vanilla site for everyone to use but the code is sloppy and im embarassed. maybe one day ill spend time cleaning up the CSS and cleaning up the views file code (i didnt know how to do some stuff so I cheated) and upload it for all.

it shrinks down to fit narrow spaces pretty well I think :)

    Partial. PM me your email.
  • Vanilla embedded forum is GREAT!! I can't believe how easy- pain free it was to install on my blog. Go to under community on my site:

    http://mycatgoma.com/
  • Here's mine: http://madebyraygun.com/forum

Still finishing up a few things, but I'm happy so far.
  • I have developed a Joomla website focused around team building events and discovered Vanilla around 2 o'clock this morning. If only I had found this before! Fantastic and it is now embedded into my site.

www.teambuilding-solutions.com Under the main link 'Forum'
  • I am using it as the forum for my iPhone/iPad app iSub Music Streamer's website. It's fitting in very nicely with my Wordpress theme and I love all the plugins.

  • For an answer to the "Quote" plugin ,go to http://vanillaforums.org/addon/embedvanilla-plugin
My Embedded Vanilla Forum is part of http://biggerpractice.com/ a work in progress .All the categories in the Forum ,match those in the blog.Membership is designed for Medical Professionals as a private means of consultation amongst peers ,not to answer questions from the general public.
The Garden/Vanilla site is embedded in the blog (scroll down) or separately at http://biggerpractice.com/Vanilla/vanilla/vanilla/
And the extra 'vanilla' parts are deliberate.
  • Here's mine, not live yet but it's close to being finished, it's for a warcraft guild site. http://test.zeaks.org/discussions/
  • Heres's mine: http://intelportal.swichon.info/

We're just starting to develop it. Won't be live for a while as there is still much styling and things to do. We're going to use it to replace http://www.intelforum.swichon.info/ . We liked the look of that smf, but not the headaches that go with it - Portal package upgrades failing and such.

So, once we found that Vanilla embeds, we decided to use a Builder powered Wordpress as the portal to our Vanilla Forum because Builder just rocks. Seems to be working well so far.

    Critiques, comments and suggestions welcome.
  • Haven't embedded yet, but here's my original:

  • I am using Vanilla forum for the newest revision of http://utahbands.com! Utahbands has been around the internet since the late 90's and has been a staple of musician commerce and networking since long before facebook and myspace. Many bands formed on utahbands.com and some have even gone on to be pretty famous. Members of The Used and Broke City have all frequented the site and forums. After a down period of a little over a year and a half, the site has had to go from pretty much ground zero requiring many security updates and site upgrades. Vanilla is now a major part of bringing back the site, as it will connect people through existing social media networks like never before. Thank you vanilla!

Thanks for telling us about your use-case, @alairock!
  • I installed imported a small Simple:Press installation last night into Vanilla. Today, I installed and themed it to match my website. I'm using the Gray Vanilla Default theme with only a few tweaks to make it all fit nicely. I do have some integration bugs hanging around with logout, I'm hoping that someone can help out with it in my other thread.

Either way, all the features are there and the embed looks good. I love love clean feature set, such a huge improvement over the javascript mess that Simple:Press was becoming (good forums, but a lot overhead).

    Anyhow here it is: http://leafboxtea.com/discuss

Feel free to stop by for a cup of tea and give a shout out on the activity wall!
