[Solved] Am I allowed to Delete the 'Powered by Vanilla' Copyright?*

Hello,
I'm from a German Minecraft Server. We searched a forum system. Our old was WBB, but this have a lot of other server. And we find Vanillaforums and its awesome! I know that's open source. But we would like it to have without 'Powered by Vanilla'. Are the a way to buy that we mustn't have 'Powered by Vanilla' ?
Sorry for my English ;)

    put

    $Definition['Powered by Vanilla'] = ' ';

    in your defintions or conf/locale.php

    I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.

    I don't get why people want to remove it.

    You are getting a fantastic resource for free.

    Why wouldn't you want to give the team who went to all that effort just a little bit of credit?

    You can always change the colour/size so it doesn't clash with your page design.

    @whu606 I think Vanilla is a great piece of software. Often clients just don't want it showing up on their sites. I prefer to comment it out if they didn't commission a new theme.

    But why would you want to remove it? I show support, its like making an artwork and not claiming its by you, not me.

    I think they mean that it is an anchor link and they don't want to search results to contain it ?

    We aren't getting it for free. Vanilla is a commercial venture that is funded by people who purchase subscriptions to the paid hosting. Someone is paying for it. Just not those people who are installing a host-your-own version. Those people are 'paying for it' by helping to provide feedback and bug reports, develop addons, spreading the word, etc.

    @Anonymoose

    Those who download the self-hosting version don't pay any money for it.

    That's free by any definition.

    Your point only shows that the Vanilla development team don't work for free.

    And are not able to.

    Nobody works for free for long, only in dreamland.
