How can I allow guests to post on my site? The type of site I am running does not entirely need people to register.

It's not something we allow in Vanilla. You may be able to find an addon that allows it. Personally, I spent years and a lot of effort enabling guest posting on my forums and I regret all of it. It's solving the wrong problem.
